Electrical emergency


Having a power cut or electrical emergency? 

Call 105 from either your landline or mobile

This will take you through to the national power cut line. They will direct you to your local network operator who will advise of what actions they are taking or arrange to attend. 

You can find who your distribution company is by going to the Energy Networks Association. But if you have an emergency please call 105.

Gas emergency

Smell gas or think you have a leak call the National Grid Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999

In the event of an emergency

  • Call the emergency line on 0800 111 999

  • Make sure nobody smokes or lights a naked flame

  • Open all the windows

  • Don't touch your electrical outlets

  • If you can turn the meter off at the control handle
